Position Title: Safety & Security Manager
Position Reports To: Complex HR Manager Department: Human Resources
This position is accountable for enforcing the safety and security functions based on regulatory requirements and Perdue standards. Oversite of the Process Safety Management (PSM).
Provide technical and regulatory expertise based on knowledge of OSHA, DOT, NFPA, and other pertinent regulations to assist staff and local work force in the solution of safety and security related issues.
Lead facility security team in managing security processes to include: completion of site surveys, management of security guard force, delivering appropriate training, and developing and administering site security policies and practices.
Coordinate and conduct various internal auditing processes to ensure compliance with both internal and external regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
Implement and oversee site’s Process Safety Management (PSM) Program under the direction of supporting the Corporate Divisional Safety Manager.
Active involvement in the site’s Worker’s Compensation Program by engagement in meetings, providing documentation for claims in litigation, and assist the Occ Health Nurse/Third Party Administrator in effectively managing all open claims.
Serve as a resource/consultant to staff and field management regarding the development of new capital projects to ensure that safety and security standards are met.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS (include any specialized or technical knowledge, certifications, credentials or licensing required for this position)
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering/Management or related field with 5+ years of manufacturing work experience with detailed knowledge of health and safety regulation issued by OSHA, Worker’s Compensation and other governmental agencies.Advanced computer skills.
PREFERRED: Related professional certification

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Position requires standing or walking for periods of time.
Sedentary activity in an office environment throughout a daily period.
May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
In a plant environment,
Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees F with both ambient and 100% humidity.
May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees F.
May be exposed to chemicals found in poultry, food, and processing environments.
Must wear and use safety equipment required for job as directed by the company.
