/We have two full-service medical-surgical hospitals. Our staff and physicians are trained in the most advanced health care available in this area from cardiology to birthing services to emergency care, inpatient/outpatient surgery, and psychiatric care. All medical specialties are represented on our medical staffs from family practice to orthopedics to pediatrics to neurosurgery./


  • The EP Lab RN assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care members.

  • Follows hospital policies and procedures.

  • The EP Lab RN assists in the responsibility for patients having EP lab procedures and cardiac device implantations performed in the EP Lab.

  • These duties include circulating, physiologically monitoring patients during cath lab procedures, and performing sterile scrub procedures for both diagnostic and interventional EP catheterization, device insertions/replacements procedures, and other EP procedures.

  • The position is also responsible for stocking and documenting supplies, inventory, patient billing, and coding of procedures.

  • This position reports to the EP Lab Lead and the CV Services Director.

  • Job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor.

  • Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student.

  • Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift.


  1. Demonstrates knowledge and application of the job requirement functions and process. Participates, cooperates, and helps develop unit based Quality Improvement processes.

  2. Supports, maintains, and provides an environment which is supportive of quality patient care through effective use of resources and personnel. Practices, develops, and endorses customer service skills in relationships with internal and external customers.

  3. Serves as the patient and family advocate with respect to the patient’s rights to privacy by protecting confidential information.

  4. Plans and implements patient care and teaching based on assessment and the age of the patient.

  5. Evaluates and documents patient response; monitors and recognizes changes in physiological and psychosocial status; takes appropriate action based on assessment of the patient.

  6. Demonstrates Customer Service/Service Plus principles and behaviors appropriately.

  7. Maintains knowledge of all invasive procedures and prepares patients appropriately according to policy.

  8. Maintains knowledge of all diagnostic tests and report abnormalities to the Physician.

  9. Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care or the services delivered.

  10. Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system. Uses system to report potential patient safety issues.

  11. Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patient’s care which results in patient harm.

  12. Attends in-service presentations and completes all mandatory education requirements.

  13. Uses Performance Improvement Plan to improve patient safety.

  14. Regular, punctual and dependable attendance.

  15. Other duties as assigned.


• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing required

• Associate degree required


• Current Georgia RN license required

• BLS – AHA Healthcare Provider required

• ACLS within 90 days of hire required


1 year of telemetry nursing is preferred, but not required
