Hours:

Monday-Friday, 40 hours

General Summary: Under general supervision, and in conformance with established bank policies and procedures, cash checks, receive deposits, perform a variety of transactions as requested by the client, and supervise activities of tellers. Responsible for the efficient operation of the teller area, and maintaining cash drawer. Ensure clients are served promptly and the teller line balances at the end of each day. Provides leadership in delivery of consistent, predictable and exceptional client service and refers additional services and products to clients. Motivates and leads team to achieve goals and objectives. Performs other duties as required. Lead Teller may supervise up to 3 associates. All associates at Capital City Bank have access to confidential client information, and must practice discretion at all times.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

  1. Recommends and refers additional bank services and products, retaining a working knowledge of all Bank services and products to the extent that the majority of client inquiries are easily and accurately answered. 2. Accepts deposits and withdrawals from clients on business, personal and savings accounts. Accepts checks for cashing or paying, and verifies endorsements and funds. 3. Ensures compliance for currency levels in drive-through or remote. 4. Accepts consumer/commercial and other Bank loan payments. 5. Works deposits from night depository. 6. Balances money in drawer with teller machine daily, including effective and efficient use of Office Capture. 7. Opens and closes teller window in accordance with procedures. 8. Keeps manager apprised of all associate relations concerns. 9. Completes Currency Transaction Report (CTR) and hold forms as required. 10. Resolves client problems. 11. Approves transactions in excess of regular teller limits, within specified authority. 12. Assigns tellers to stations. 13. Assists with complex transactions or problems. 14. Gives direction and guidance to other tellers. 15. Attends meetings as required. All associates must understand and adhere to the non-negotiable Banker Standards and commit to practicing SGNNT at all times. Associates will consistently follow policies and procedures as established by Capital City Bank, with department managers setting the standard.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) Required:

The following KSAs are usually acquired through high school education with specialized business training course(s) and/or three to twelve months cash handling experience:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and interact positively with clients as well as fellow associates.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and a wide range of procedures requiring some judgment.

  • Requires concentration to avoid mistakes in counting cash.

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations using various business machines and/or computers.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time. .Ability to print legibly and accurately on forms and records.

  • Must have attained the age of 18 for coverage under insurance bond.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED. Relevant experience may substitute for the education requirement.
